A little bit about me…
Hello! I’m Vicky, and I own Lucky Sixpence Bridal.
Originally from Hertfordshire, I moved to East Anglia in 2001, and Harleston in 2011. I live here with my husband, Graeme. My family and close friends are my world. I have two grown-up children and a grown-up stepson.
I love open fields, woodland, and being near water (but not on it!). Pottering about in jeans and wellies makes me happy.
I never wear dresses, except on special occasions, and the idea of traipsing around lots of shops to find a wedding dress would fill me with dread, but, I have always loved weddings! The pure romance, the gorgeous flowers, and, of course, the pretty dresses!
I started Lucky Sixpence Bridal as I figured if I feel like this about trying on dresses, then maybe you do, too.
My career started as a bridal seamstress. Although I have, unfortunately, had to put my pins away due to Arthritis in my fingers, I have over 20 years’ experience with bridal alterations. This means that I can confidently advise you on the feasibility of any adjustments you are looking to make.
My love for all things bridal resulted in me taking the plunge, and I started offering bridal wear at affordable prices in November 2019.
My aim is to ensure every bride looks and feels her most beautiful self on her wedding day!
I will always do my best to give you the best wedding dress shopping experience and go the extra mile to help you in any way I can. You will find me friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about all things bridal!
Here are a few other things I love…
Music – all genres. I always have the radio on or music playing.
My family – I love them all to bits, they are so important to me.
All animals of the fluffy variety – especially dogs. I’m often found blubbing over animal charity adverts! I am not fond of reptiles, though, and I have a major fear of snakes!
Reading – I always have my head in a book.
I also love Yoga, walking, and generally trying to stay active.
