Covid-19 Updated Policies and Procedures

The following Covid-19 updated policies and procedures are in addition to my general policies and procedures and should be read in conjunction with them. You can find my general policies and procedures, alongside my privacy policy and other legal notices by clicking here.

Hello, Lovely, and welcome to the ‘new normal’!  I would like to thank you for considering a visit to Lucky Sixpence Bridal.

As things begin to return to normal (well, as close to normal as they can be) you may be starting to revisit your wedding plans, including buying your dress – I imagine that’s why you’re here!

With retail re-opening, you will find that policies vary from one bridal boutique to another as we all try to do everything we can to get back up and running while taking into account our individual circumstances.  With this in mind, and as a ‘clinically extremely vulnerable’ person, I am putting in place some new policies and procedures for bridal appointments.  These are in line with current government guidelines, take into account my own personal circumstances, and also ensure your experience at Lucky Sixpence Bridal is as special as it always has been while keeping us all as safe as we can be. 

Please bear with me while I find my feet – this is all new to me, too!  I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding of the changes I have made.

These guidelines will be adapted and changed as required in accordance with the government guidelines so please keep checking back to see if anything has changed. 

The footfall through Lucky Sixpence Bridal is very low in comparison to a high street store making social distancing easier to manage.  I also limit the number of appointments I book thus reducing the number of people who attend.

My updated Covid-19 Policies and Procedures:

What you need to know – before your appointment

As before, I will operate on an appointment-only basis.

Anyone with (or who has had close contact with someone who has) Covid-19 symptoms should postpone their appointment in line with government self-isolation rules. Any visitor appearing to be unwell or displaying symptoms will be asked to leave for their own safety as well as others.

Any dresses or accessories tried on and all surfaces and touchpoints will be thoroughly cleaned between appointments.

To adhere to social distancing rules, numbers will be limited to the bride plus ONE ADULT guest only for each appointment. Please note, no exception will be made to this and no additional guests, babies, or children will be admitted. Free Wi-Fi is available should you wish to involve others who cannot attend in person by virtually interacting with them.

Before your appointment you are encouraged to view all dresses and accessories on my website and obtain accurate measurements of your bust, waist, and hips (in inches) so you know which dresses are in your size.  (Feel free to choose dresses that are bigger as they can be altered to fit). Following your request for an appointment I will contact you via email (or phone, if you prefer) to introduce myself and have a chat about the style of dress you are looking for and whether there are any particular dresses you are keen to see in more detail.    I will make these dresses available for you when you arrive and we will use these dresses as a starting point – this does not mean you can’t try other dresses on if time allows.

Only two appointments will be booked each day to allow enough time to sanitise any dresses tried on between appointments.  

Please only book an in-person appointment if you are ready to purchase your gown to reduce the number of visits.

What you need to know – during your appointment

Hand sanitiser will be provided. You are kindly asked to use it on arrival and before leaving, as well as throughout the appointment as you wish.

Following the government’s updated guidance, I will be wearing a face-covering throughout your appointment. Face coverings will also need to be worn by yourself and your guest, although you are welcome to remove your face covering while contemplating whether the dress you are in is right for you so long as 2-metre social distancing is observed. Disposable face masks are available for your use or feel free to bring your own.  Please take this with you at the end of your appointment and dispose of it at home.  All of my gowns are displayed in clear dress bags which can be easily cleaned between appointments; therefore, gloves do not need to be worn, but you may bring/wear your own if you wish.

Please maintain a 2-metre distance within the building wherever possible.

Please note, no drinks will be offered at this time but you are very welcome to bring your own in a non-spill container/bottle.  Unfortunately, apart from exceptional circumstances, the toilet will remain closed as it is located inside my home.

If possible, please ask your guest to help you with getting into any dresses.  If they are unable to help you then I will assist you.  Time in the fitting room will be kept as short as possible to help limit close contact and I will be standing behind you the whole time – please remain facing forward while I am helping you. I will socially distance myself from you as much as possible throughout the rest of your appointment.

Your guest will be asked to remain seated when they are not helping you into a dress to enable easier movement around the building. Please only touch dresses and accessories that you wish to try on and ask your guest to do the same. 

I thank you once again for taking these changes on-board. I understand that they may feel quite restrictive but they are there to protect us and I promise you that I will endeavour to make your dress shopping experience as special as I possibly can.
